The next course will take place over two dates Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd of July 9.30 until 4.30 at Bridgend Growing Communities.
This course for aspiring growers is taught as eight individual modules. Together, these provide all the basic knowledge and skills that you’ll need to grow your own vegetables and fruit organically — whether in a garden, on an allotment, or as part of a community project. Each course module lasts between two and three hours and deals with a separate topic, as follows:
- getting growing
- site design
- soils and compost
- planning and crop rotation
- seeds and container growing
- plant care
The course is delivered through a combination practical activities, discussions, demonstrations, and interactive games, and is accredited by Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC). A certificate can be awarded upon completion of a short written assessment.
The fee for this course is £75. Please sign up here.
